FireDaemon 1.8: Run Any Application or Script as a Windows Service
A Popular Service Management Utility Provides Maximum Uptime for Particular Applications and Secures Them against Accidental Crashes or Intentional Shutdowns
Sydney, NSW, Australia - October 7, 2005: Sublime Solutions today announces the release of FireDaemon, the newest version of the popular service management utility. FireDaemon allows you to install and run any Win32/64-bit application or script as a service in Windows NT, 2000, XP, 2003 and Vista. The application enables complete configuration of the installed services, including such options as a service name, application default directory, run as system or standard or domain account, automatic start and process priority. Configuration options can be setup via the graphical user interface or command line, using XML configuration files.

Why Install an Application as a Service?
According to James Bourne, CEO of Sublime Solutions and co-author of FireDaemon, the idea behind FireDaemon is to provide maximum uptime for particular applications and secure them against accidental crashes or intentional shutdowns. "Installing an application as a service gives you a number of benefits. For example, a program setup as a service runs in the background all the time, regardless of who is or is not logged in. This is useful for certain programs, such as network management or business productivity software, that you would like to be running all the time. Besides, as a service, the program can be configured to run for specific periods during the day, week or month. This leads to better, more "targeted" systems management."
Additions and Enhancement in Version 1.8
The new version of FireDaemon continues to deliver all much-requested features. Additionally, it introduces a handful of enhancements and new extras. The installer enables all customers of FireDaemon 1.5, 1.6 and 1.7 to upgrade to version 1.8. The upgrade is seamless and free. As the installer has been completely rebuilt, now it is 2.7 Mb smaller than in earlier releases. This allows spending less time on downloading the program. The FireDaemon uninstaller optionally stops/uninstalls FireDaemon services. All executables and DLLs have been digitally signed.
The user interface has been enhanced to improve its visual perception and convenience. The old toolbar icons have been replaced with the new ones, which are simpler and more intuitive. Also, the synchronization issue, which resulted from using FireDaemon via the user interface and command line simultaneously, has been fixed. The program has become even handier now that it has the ability to drag and drop FireDaemon configurations to/from the GUI and the desktop. Added to this is the ability to select multiple services to start, stop or delete.
Version 1.8 has been designated "Windows Compatible" on 32-bit and 64-bit systems by Microsoft. It supports system and service specific environment variables on all platforms. Also it has a support for mapped drives and UNC paths. Customers will discover an improved scheduling facility and a new Dialogs tab, which enables dialog popup control. With 1.8 console applications shutdown gracefully. Services can be stopped or started via direct registry modification. These and other features of version 1.8 are listed on the FireDaemon website.
FireDaemon Pricing and Availability
FireDaemon 1.8 runs under Windows NT4/2000/XP/2003 and distributed as a Pro version for general use, $35 (USD), and an OEM version designed for redistribution, from $1995 (USD) depending on the size of the installation base. Netvision- the system for online video surveillance. Watch your home remotely!
The new release of LiveSite TM v 2.0_ series by Intermedium Corp.
Intermedium Corp. has released the new updated version of the LiveSite TM series bundle software for online video and audio support in September, 2005.
The updated release includes optimized client applications, now realized both in Java and ActiveX. Moreover, the new better optimization for video compression is applied to the source code.
The LiveSite TM software series includes:
the applications for online (local network too) video and audio support of the customers (mostly for the online web shops and companies with representative functions, which are eager to visualize the process of the communication the best way it is possible in Internet now);
the applications for remote video and audio surveillance of the buildings, offices, homes - practically an ideal solution for remote monitoring of the elderly people, "kids home alone", "kids with the baby-sitter" etc.;
the applications for arranging remote video and audio consulting on the pay-per-time and pay-per-view basis, as well as the related aspects of the online video and audio communication in "real-time" mode;
the applications for broadcasting of the cultural and sport events from the multiple types of video and audio sources (Web-cameras, DV-Video Out, Camcorder, VCR, TV, videocapture etc.) into the Internet.
Main advantage of the whole system is its relative simplicity and functionality. The only thing the User is to have is Internet connection. If you are eager to make Internet really "live", these systems will suit your needs the best way. The viewer gets the video and audio directly into his Internet browser window. No other additional installations are required.
Launching this system is very simple and effective as well. After purchase of the program, you will be able to establish your own online web-community, to run Internet-TV, to establish a virtual "meeting room", consulting sevicing for the clients, to watch your relatives and kids remotely while being far away from your home. Just copy the HTML codes for the client pages and paste it onto your web server or your private web site, local network server site, then just start the program and the client will be able to view the video information that you provide, just in couple of minutes.
Netvision 2.01
The updated client version with support of Java and ActiveX clients is realized in this update.
You are able to watch your home while being far away just on connecting to your computer remotely, to view the kids with your new baby-sitter, to see your elderly relatives if they do not feel good or they are ill. Now it is real and simple.

iPIG and iPIG Server Secure Your Public Wi-Fi Hotspot or Hotel Connection for Free
iPIG and iPIG Server Secure Your Public Wi-Fi Hotspot or Hotel Connection for Free
iOpus Software has released iOpus Private Internet Gateway (iPIG), a powerful Windows application that keeps strangers from monitoring your email exchanges or gaining unauthorized access to your computer. When you work from a hotel room, a network connection at a client's office, an Internet cafe, or any public location, your data is at risk from hackers. iPIG adds a strong level of encryption protection.
iPIG creates a secure tunnel for your data. Using powerful 256-bit AES encryption technology, iPIG protects email, web traffic, instant messaging, VOIP, FTP, and all inbound and outbound communications at any Wi-Fi hotspot or wired network. iPIG shields your data from even the most sophisticated methods of online spying and snooping. Your sensitive information is protected between your computer and the wireless access point that you're using. In addition, it is protected all the way to iOpus' secure connection servers deep in the Internet. This ensures that your data can't be easily hijacked through the air.
Unlike other protection technologies, iPIG works with Wi-Fi, WLAN, 802.11 a/b/g, wired Ethernet, and any kind of Internet connection. iPIG requires no configuration of any kind. Simply start your favorite web browser, email client, or chat software, and switch iPIG encryption on. iPIG grabs all Internet traffic before it leaves your PC, and encrypts it securely. iPIG also works with all major firewall software, including ZoneAlarm and Norton Internet Security.
Public hotspots such as cafes, hotels, and libraries cannot use even the most rudimentary protection such as WEP or WPA. By using iPIG's encryption technology, you can keep your Wi-Fi safe from hackers while you're using your computer in public places.
Network managers who prefer to use their companies' secure connection servers can establish their own secure Internet endpoints by installing iPIG on their servers, instead of using iOpus' secure servers.
Whether you're a business person who needs to create secure Wi-Fi connections when you are travelling on business, a salesperson who needs to feel comfortable using a connection on your clients' networks, or a network administrator who is responsible for the data security of your enterprise, iPIG has the tools that you need.
iOpus Private Internet Gateway runs under Windows 2000/XP/2003. The iPig client and the the iPig Server Express Edition for up to 5 users are available without charge (freeware). You can download iPIG from the iOpus GmbH web site at http://www.iOpus.com/ipig .
